Public Housing

Developments / Apartments  - owned and managed by the Chelsea Housing Authority.

Fitzpatrick Apartments (State Family 200-1) - Also known as "The Woodies," consists of 70 townhouse apartments, which include 42 two-bedroom and 28 three-bedroom units in twelve two-story structures developed in 1948.

Prattville Apartments (State Family 200-2) - The "Brickies" as they're called are made up of 128 apartments. 77 are two-bedroom and 51 are three-bedroom apartments. The two, three-story structures located along Burma Road, Exeter Street and Guam Road were developed in 1951.

Innes Apartments (State Family 200-3) - Along Central Ave, Watts and Willow Streets consist of 42 two-bedroom, 48 three-bedroom and 6 four-bedroom units built in 1951.

Union Park Apartments (State Elderly/Disabled 667-1) - Seven, two-story structures with a total of 56 one-bedroom apartments first occupied in 1969. These units are located at Sixth, Walnut, Orange and Spruce Streets.

Buckley Apartments (State Elderly/Disabled 667-2) - Located at 14 Bloomingdale Street has 210 one-bedroom apartments first occupied in 1972. The eight-story brick structure with three elevators serving its elderly and/or disabled residents received extensive renovations in 2000. One apartment has been set aside for an on-site clinic and office.

Scrivano Apartments (Federal Family 16-1) - These four three-story brick structured buildings, were first occupied in 1952. Scrivano has 9 one-bedroom, 52 two-bedroom and 45 three-bedroom apartments with a total of 106 units.

Mace Apartments (Federal Family 16-2) - Contains 96 dwelling units built in 1953. It has 23 one-bedroom, 33 two-bedroom, 25 three-bedroom and 15 four-bedroom units on Mill Court and Crescent Avenue.

Margolis Apartments (Federal Elderly/Disabled 16-4) - A 152- unit thirteen-story brick structure with two elevators serving its elderly and/or disabled residents. Extensive renovations were completed in 2000.

Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS)

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program links public housing assistance with case management to assist tenants working toward financial independence and the possibility of homeownership. Whatever your goals may be the FSS Coordinator can help you with the resources to achieve them. Only Federal Public Housing tenants that are in good standing with the housing authority can participate in the program. When a participant is employed he/she will begin to receive money in an escrow account provided by the housing authority. The FSS Coordinator is on site at the Mace and Scrivano development regularly if you are interested or have any more questions about the program.

In accordance with the FY 2014 Appropriations Bill, the flat rent cannot be lower than 80% of the applicable FMR.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program

IPM is a method of pest control that includes a series of evaluations, decisions and controls (as opposed to just applying chemicals). In order for IPM practices to be successful it is imperative that the customer (you) work closely with the maintenance staff and pest control company.

Parking Policy and Program

Chelsea Housing Authority residents can apply for a parking permit on Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to– 6:00 PM and Fridays from 9:00 AM –to 11:00 AM.  Please bring the vehicle registration and your driver's license.
